When a speaker had to cancel at the Northern Regional Forum 2025 at the Crystalbrook Riley in Cairns, Christina was invited to step in, with just one day to prepare.

She delivered an engaging and thought‑provoking presentation on engineers’ liability and how to prepare for potential litigation, drawing on her dual experience as a fire safety engineer and an expert witness. The session sparked plenty of reflection and conversation among attendees.

Outside of her own session, Christina enjoyed hearing about inspiring local projects including flood restoration works and innovations in biofuel. A hands‑on bridge‑building exercise tied perfectly into her key message, demonstrating how documentation (or the lack of it) can directly impact liability.

A big thank you to Engineers Australia for hosting such a valuable event and bringing the region together for insightful discussion and collaboration.
