Christina was asked to give a lecture at the Central Queensland University (CQU). The students enjoyed her presentation so much that they asked her to come back to give a second one!

As most of you will know, Christina is passionate about education and advocating for fire safety engineering, so no matter how busy she is, she always makes time to share her knowledge.

For many students it was the first time they had been exposed to or even heard of fire safety engineering. Here is to hoping it will inspire some to take on this engineering stream in their career path!

The unit was Engineering Futures which is offered to second and third year engineering students at CQU. The student cohort includes all four CQU engineering disciplines – Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Mechatronics engineering.

In her first lecture Christina discussed functional safety, safety in design, and the compliance of a complex engineering project with legislation, guidelines, and Australian Standards. In her second lecture the topic she presented was regarding risk assessment and safe work practices.
