Fire Australia 2024 – Australasia’s largest fire protection industry event was held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach on the 7-9 May. With more than 2000 attendees the conference highlighted trends in fire safety, lithium-ion fire risks and battery storage and so much more.

Christina was invited to be on the Women in Fire panel alongside Tracy Gurnett from the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and Anita Kingdom from Total Concept Industries, moderated by Yvonne Pengilly from Myown Constructions. The panel discussed leadership, diversity and women in industry.

With just a 5-minute window, Christina then rushed over to the main conference room to deliver her ‘Fire resistance, combustibility and fire hazard properties’ presentation to a full audience. The audience participation and attendance was great! It really lifts the vibe in the room when the audience gets involved and, full credit to Christina, who enjoys and learns from the content.

Christina has come a long way since her first Fire Australia expo when she was a newly graduated engineer and too shy to talk to anyone. Fast forward to today when she confidently walks into a room as a successful engineer and business owner and people not only know who she is but line up to spend time talking to her.
