The Cairns Engineers Australia Committee hosted another Engineer the Future STEM Night for Kids on Thursday, 23 October 2025, at the James Cook University Ideas Lab. The event aimed to foster curiosity and enthusiasm for STEM among young minds.

CJK Fire & Safety proudly sponsored the event, and Christina Knorr volunteered her time to give an inspiring talk on fire safety engineering — sharing insights into how engineers help protect people, property, and the environment.

Participants included Rangers (13–17-year-old Girl Guides) and Venturers (14–17-year-old Scouts), who took part in two hands-on activities: building elephant robots and constructing Da Vinci bridges using chopsticks.

Both activities encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork — the same skills engineers use every day to design practical, innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
